Medications

Most of the time, the hospital will provide the medication your doctor prescribes for you during your hospital stay In some instances we may ask you to provide your home medicine. If you bring medicine from home, please give it to your nurse who will make sure you are getting the appropriate medication while you are hospitalized.

You can assist us to safely manage your medication regime by:

  • Giving the nurse a complete, accurate list of ALL medications you take at home.
  • Showing the nurse your ID bracelet each time you take medication.
  • Making sure you are given the same medicine each time. If not, ask why.
  • Telling the nurse if you’ve had a bad reaction to any medicine in the past.
