CentreTown Fitness and Local Club Join Forces 11/12/08 WHEELING, W.Va. – CentreTown Fitness is awarding one free month of membership to new members of the Ohio Valley Runners’ Walkers’ Club (OVRWC).
The partnership between the two organizations was a natural match because of the shared vision toward promoting physical activity in the Ohio Valley.
“CentreTown has worked to promote walking and physical fitness activity in the community, and we felt their vision was in keeping with ours,” said Tom Rownd, past president of OVRWC. “The free month of membership at CentreTown is a positive incentive for our new members.” “We look at this partnership to be beneficial to both organizations,” said George Frazier, director of CentreTown Fitness. “We can continue to promote healthy opportunities through our partnership with Ohio Valley Runners’ Walkers’ Club.”
The OVRWC manages running and walking events in the Ohio Valley while providing a forum for education and a fraternity for runners and walkers. The club offers monthly programs, racing updates, informational articles, and social events. The club meets monthly at the Edgewood Lutheran Church on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm.
Membership to the OVRWC is $12 for a single or $17 for a family. For more information about the organization, visit www.ovrunnersandwalkers.org.
